The Thumbprint Cookie. Two Ways. Both Perfect.

The Thumbprint Cookie. Two Ways. Both Perfect.

The thumbprint cookie traces its roots to 19th century Sweden, where it was called "Hallongrotta," meaning "raspberry cave." Variations also spread through Germany and Austria, carried by European immigrants who brought their baking traditions to America and eventually into the showcase of bakeries like William Greenberg Desserts, where the tradition has been honored ever since.

At William Greenberg Desserts, we bake our thumbprint cookies the way they were meant to be made: premium butter, a crumbly shortbread base, and a bright dab of fresh jam pressed into the center of each one. We offer two varieties: raspberry jam and apricot jam.

Both are fully kosher certified under the supervision of National Kosher Supervision, available by the pound, and packaged in William Greenberg gift tins. Order online for nationwide shipping or visit us at 1100 Madison Avenue or 285 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan.
